Once there was a wise king. One day, he called his three ministers.
He gave each of them an empty sack and said, “Go to the garden and fill your sack with fruits.”
The first minister was honest. He carefully picked fresh, good fruits and filled his sack.
The second minister was lazy. He picked bad, rotten fruits and filled his sack without caring.
The third minister was very bad person and dishonest. He filled most of his sack with stones and put only a few good fruits on top to show.
All three came back to the king.
The king did not check the sacks. Instead, he gave an order:
“Put all three ministers in separate prison rooms for 30 days. They will eat only what they have brought in their sacks.”
Days passed.
The first minister ate his good fruits and stayed healthy. He survived all 30 days.
The second minister had only bad fruits. He became sick and died in two weeks.
The third minister had mostly stones. He had almost nothing to eat and died within a week.
After 30 days, only the first minister was alive.
The king said, “You are living today because of what you chose to bring.”
Moral of the Story:
God has sent us to this earth with an empty bag. We must fill it with good deeds. If we do good, we will live a good life. If we do bad, we will suffer one day.
As you sow, so shall you reap. The fruit of karma is inevitable.
